A root canal is one of the most common dental procedures performed, well over 14 million every year. This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or bridges.

What is a root canal?
At the center of your tooth is pulp. Pulp is a collection of blood vessels that helps to build the surrounding tooth. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to temperature or pain in the tooth and gums.
Treatment and recovery
01. Non-surgical treatment
Your dentist or endodontist removes injured pulp, cleans and seals the root canal system under local anesthesia. Success rate is over 90%.
02. Comfort during treatment
Local anesthesia and optional nitrous oxide ensure a painless procedure. You will be able to drive home afterwards and resume normal routine.
03. What happens after treatment?
A record of treatment is sent to your dentist. You will return to your restorative dentist for a final crown or filling.
04. How much will a root canal cost?
Cost varies by tooth position and complexity. Endodontic treatment is far less expensive than tooth extraction and artificial tooth replacement.
